Submissive vs Slave
slave (BDSM) — is a term often used in BDSM to connote a specific form of submissive. A sexual roleplay or consensual slave could also be a masochist or bottom, but this is not always the case.
Connotatively it refers to highly committed Domination and submissive.
Some practitioners feel the difference between submissive and slave is the degree of submission.
A good slave is not a passive lump who is merely acted upon. He/she does cede some agreed-upon measure of control over how the relationship looks. But within the structure that the Master or Mistress sets out, it's the slave's job to work proactively to improve the Master or Mistress life. And that can't happen if they have you do all there thinking for them.
Being a slave also does not mean that you surrender all responsibility for critical thought or self-determination. Slaves are not children and they are not objects; they are people with the obligation of right action toward themselves and toward others always.
Slaves do put up limits. Regardless of what you see on TV or read in a book slaves have hard limits ( hard limits are ones you never cross) and soft limits ( ones generally that can be done when certain actions are taken)
Like any other form of submission, there’s a spectrum in being a slave. Some want to be and are extremely micromanaged. Details like when to eat, what to eat, when to use the bathroom, and when to speak are decided by their Master. Other slaves have fewer of the outward acts but may have a slave heart. I would imagine most if not all slaves have a slave heart, and I’ll let them define that for themselves. Slaves tend to give up even more control to their Dominant partner than other types of submissives do.
It should be noted that the Master/slave relationship is entered into on a strictly consensual basis, without the legal force of historical or modern non-consensual slavery.
Various forms of symbolism are sometimes used to affirm the Owner/slave relationship, such as wearing the owner’s collar which can also be worn in a submissive relationship, being registered in a slave register, adopting (sometimes legally changing to) a name chosen by the owner, or engaging in a public declaration or ritualized ceremony of some type. Some people draw up a slave contract that defines the relationship in explicit detail, but these have no legal weight and are therefore not intended to be used in any court of law while some have a ceremony of some type.
There is considerable debate over the exact definition of the word “slave” as it pertains to BDSM. Many people believe that you are a slave if you consider yourself one, whilst others believe one must be in the emotional state of Total Power Exchange or Internal Enslavement for the term to apply.
Some examples of slaves are. Pain slavesare there for their owner to see how much pain, humiliation, and whatever else they can do to their slave. This type is often a sub or masochist with a title. Sexual slaves have a slavery whose main emphasis is on sex or sensuality. They might not do much else with their owner besides sex as far as being a slave goes.Service slavesdo things for their owners and are general purpose slaves. They take on the owner's goals and desires and transform them into reality as best they can. The servic slave does the most different things and, as part of their service, can cover all the other areas.
What is a submissive?
A submissive, or sub, is a person that gives up some degree of authority and/or control to a Dominant either all the time or for the duration of a BDSM Scene, not to be confused with Bottom Or Slave.
There are several types of submissive's out in BDSM
Many times a submissive does not engage in sexual activities, because submission could be as simple as a look or a touch which makes the feelings they have with there desire to submit emerge. So not everything in the lifestyle is about sex as many in the mainstream would have you believe.
Here are some examples of different types of submissive's, but these are not all of the different types.
Service Submission
Service submission is not (necessarily) sexual submission. It tends to refer to submissives who perform services for their Dominant. The most common form is domestic service — cooking, cleaning, laundry, etc. But a service submissive may also do your taxes, mow your lawn, clean your pool, or fix your car. The act matters a lot less than the feeling behind it — being of service and making the Dominant’s life a little (or a lot) easier and more comfortable.
Sexual Submission
A lot of submissives fall into this category. When it’s time to get naked, there the bottom, and they need the other party to lead. Sexual submission might be taking orders and being of use. But it could also be more primal with some amount of resistance and making your Dominant work for your submission. And, as always, it could be somewhere in between the two.
Forced Submission
This is the act in which a one party is forced to submit to another keep in mind this is consentual. Some submissives don’t want their submission coerced or seduced from them. They want it taken, sometimes with brute force. Sometimes it’s primal, but not always. They’re the “Make me” kind of submissive. I have come across a few of these in my time and they are very much submissive. To them it’s about the Dominant proving they’re stronger and worthy of submission.
Littles
In the little category, you’ll find a huge range of types: baby girls/girls, baby boys/boys, age players, middles, etc. However it manifests, one trait remains fairly constant they tend to have younger than our natural age behaviors, traits, and/or mindset. Their Dominant is a caregiver, even if they don’t take a Mommy or Daddy title. A little wants or needs to be nurtured, taken care of, and, sometimes, be completely free of responsibility for a period of time. Some of the little relationships can become sexual over time which is a part of the dynamic and it is with someone of consenting age.
